Happy Hummus supports school nutrition programs through a portion of our proceeds.
Happy Hummus supports nutritious school lunch programs with healthy snacks for growing kids. Garbanzo beans, also called chickpeas, are legumes that make up the base of hummus. These legumes have been providing nutrition for people in the Middle East for thousands of years and have been popular in Europe and the Mediterranean region for centuries.
Garbanzo beans are low in fat and high in protein and fiber, and contain key minerals including iron, folate and magnesium. Hummus is an excellent alternative to less nutritional dips and dressings, and because it is often served with vegetables like celery and carrots, students are heading back to class more satisfied and better prepared to learn after lunch.
